Day 1 thoughts

So made it through the first day primarily by myself: Chase was home late and then slept all day, Gray worked early and Ben worked as well. My house was very quiet, so much so my friend Tabby came by and first thing she said was "Wow, your house is quiet." Gave me plenty of time to think and read. I am reading "Tried by War" for my Gettysburg grant trip, a biography about Lincoln as a strategist politically, militarily, and nationally. As I read I Realized that Lincoln lived his life as commander and chief during the Civil War by my 2-12 2012 goals. He made sure he understood things before he acted instead of just reacting. Thank you Tah grants for giving me the opportunity to read this book and for the AIHE training about the Civil War and Lincoln's Constitutional thinking about the South from our founders point of view. My head was swimming with battle information and strategy during that "fragile" time, but once I put it into today's thinking, I was able to correlate to "fragile" events in everyday life.

  1. I left a comment yesterday but I don't see where it was posted. Hopefully you will see this one. I think Chase's grandfather worked him too hard. Maybe is making up for it by sleeping. They were both a lot of help.
